Spiritual Carvers

Take the opportunity to watch the Maori Spirit Carvers at work. Tribal carvings are a traditional decoration for the front of the Maori meeting house and as gifts for special people. Each carving contains designs specific to the local tribe. In this way every item is both unique and identifiable.

While the carvers work they do not need plans to create their often large masterpieces, as they are inspired directly from the spirits of their ancestors. This is the reason for the divisor which separates the Noa (common folk) from the Tapu (sacred/forbidden area). This is a spiritual event deeply rooted in the culture of the people and the way they tell their own story!

Safaris

Laugh in wonder as the dolphins swim beside you on our scenic boat charters. Look over the bow to see them race us! Whale watching is available and Penguins make their home next to the resort and often come visit. They are a magnificent bird but can be hard to spot unless you know where to look. When you stay with us we will be your guide.
